defense conference 2004  <  defense events  <  home

All conference sessions were private and off-the-record, no press was admitted. However, the Council held several press conferences in Scottsdale to discuss the conference. Press conferences were held 4:00pm-5:00pm on Sunday, October 3 (Sonora D, with Rupert Hammond-Chambers), 5:30pm-6:00pm on Monday, October 4 (Sonora D, with Secretary William S. Cohen and Rupert Hammond-Chambers), and 9:00am-9:30am on Tuesday, October 5 (Sonora D, with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Randy Schriver, Dan Blumenthal from the Department of Defense, and Rupert Hammond-Chambers).

We asked that all members of the press interested in covering the meeting on location in Scottsdale please register with us. Registered Press received a press schedule prior to the beginning of the conference.

In addition, a dedicated pressroom was available on-site. The Hilton Scottsdale room named Sonora D was designated as the press room, and press packets and other information about the Conference was available in Sonora D. Any speeches released prior to or during the conference were also available in the pressroom upon release.
