On October 7, 2026, US-Taiwan Business Council (USTBC) Executive Vice President Lotta Danielsson served as moderator at “Looking Towards 2027: US-Taiwan Relations Amid Rising Tensions in Asia,” the Annual Symposium hosted by the Global Taiwan Institute in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Danielsson moderated the second panel called “The US-Taiwan Trade and Technology Relationship,” and was joined by speakers Riley Walters of The Hudson Institute, W. Patrick Wilson of Semiconductor & Innovation Group, and Cathy Fang from the Research Institute for Democracy, Society, and Emerging Technology (DSET).

In announcing the event, GTI said:

As GTI’s flagship annual event, the symposium is a forum that convenes leading experts on US-Taiwan policy to discuss current challenges and propose potential future solutions.

The event, taking place over the course of a full day, in-person session in Washington, DC, will address a range of critical issues in US-Taiwan relations. This year’s symposium will be organized around four engaging panel discussions on regional geopolitics in Asia; the US-Taiwan trade and technology relationship; the non-traditional threats to Taiwan’s security; and the growing military threat to Taiwan, and Taiwan’s own evolving defense posture. The forum will also include a moderated interview session with former US policymakers, and speeches from senior Taiwan government representatives.

GTI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to insightful, cutting-edge, and inclusive research to raise awareness, deepen affinity, and create opportunities for strengthening the relationship between Taiwan and the international community.

The US-Taiwan Business Council thanks GTI for including us in this important and timely discussion.
