Keith Krach, Chairman of the US-Taiwan Business Council
Keith Krach serves as Chairman of the US-Taiwan Business Council, where he works with Council leadership, member companies, and partners in the United States and Taiwan to strengthen trade, investment, technology cooperation, economic security, and trusted commercial relationships.
Krach previously served as U.S. Under Secretary of State. His responsibilities included international economic policy, energy security, technology, global partnerships, and efforts to strengthen trusted supply chains. His public-service work placed particular emphasis on semiconductors, trusted technology, and the strategic importance of the U.S.-Taiwan relationship.
In 2020, Krach traveled to Taiwan as the highest-ranking State Department official to visit since 1979. His meetings focused on economic cooperation, democratic partnerships, technology, investment, and supply-chain security. He has continued that work through the USTBC and its partnership with the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue.

Krach is also Chairman of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. Earlier in his career, he served as Chairman and CEO of DocuSign, co-founded Ariba, became one of General Motors’ youngest vice presidents and served as Chairman of the Purdue University Board of Trustees. Throughout his career, Krach has emphasized that trust is the foundation of strong partnerships among companies, institutions, and nations. His work with the Council focuses on translating that principle into practical progress in trade, technology, investment, energy, and supply-chain resilience.
