2017 US-Taiwan Business Forum

The US-Taiwan Business Council and the Taipei Economic & Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) co-host the U.S.-Taiwan Business Forum, bringing together business leaders from Taiwan and the United States to examine the future of our bilateral economic and commercial relationship, in Washington, D.C.

This year’s U.S.-Taiwan Business Forum is a closed-door event provides a platform for leaders of the Taiwan and U.S. private sectors to discuss issues of mutual interest. Joined by Mrs. Mei-Yueh Ho, National Policy Advisor to the President Tsai Ing-Wen, and business leaders from Taiwan to the U.S. for the Department of Commerce’s SelectUSA Investment Summit, we look to share and exchange perspectives on topics such as innovation, supply chain networks, and how global success can be achieved through developing deeper partnerships.

The first session session will explore overall trade, investment and economic relations between the United States and Taiwan, and their bilateral partnership in the global supply chain. It may also examine how the policy environment in both countries will affect commercial partnerships between U.S. and Taiwan firms, and explore potential ways to build a stronger bilateral trade and investment partnership.

The second session will highlight the importance of the U.S.-Taiwan partnership in sectors such as ICT, services, smart machinery, advanced materials, biotech, chemical and energy industries. The discussion will examine opportunities for expanding cooperation between U.S. and Taiwan businesses through greater supply chain connectivity, industrial cooperation, technological collaboration, and innovative programs provided by the governments of the United States and Taiwan.
