The US-Taiwan Business Council (USTBC) today announced a joint technology partnership forum with Arizona State University, to be held at the Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Arizona on May 8, 2026.

This Forum will explore how to expand investment and deepen overall cooperation between the United States and Taiwan in the technology sector. During a day of panel discussions and keynote speeches, we will examine the opportunities and challenges in our bilateral technology and trade relationship.

The event will open with a keynote speech, followed by a panel on “Competition or Cooperation: The Inflection Point in U.S.-Taiwan-China Tech Relations”, moderated by Rupert Hammond-Chambers, President, US-Taiwan Business Council. Following a luncheon keynote speech is a panel on “Higher Education Meeting the Needs of the Tech Industry,” which will be moderated by Matt Salmon, Special Advisor, Office of University Affairs, Arizona State University. The final panel of the Forum is “The Cultural Architecture of Investment: Building Belonging in the New Arizona,” moderated by Joel Cohen, Managing Partner, TruNorth Advisors.

In announcing the event, USTBC President Rupert Hammond-Chambers said, “Taiwan is a like-minded democracy, a top tier trading partner, and an essential strategic ally for the United States. Taiwan plays a crucial role in the global technology supply chain, particularly for leading-edge semiconductors, and serves as a trusted partner for U.S. technology companies. We look forward to discussing this crucial partnership across a broad range of topics from technology policy to higher education and to culture and business ties. A deeper U.S.-Taiwan partnership in the technology sector enhances the security of the technology supply chain, increases the industrial capacity of the United States, and promotes the economic and security interests of both sides.
